VPD Named Medium Company Winner in Sacramento's "Best Places to Work"
The “WOW!” program sets us apart. Every new employee receives a copy of “Customer Satisfaction is Worthless, Customer Loyalty is Priceless” by business writer Jeffrey Gitomer. This book provides strategies for providing exceptional customer experiences and maintaining a positive goal-oriented work environment. Employees who are able to discuss how the key concepts can be applied to his or her job at the 90-day review are given a $100 bonus.

The WOW! concept is viewed as one of the key reasons for the organizations success. Over the past three years, its workforce has doubled and revenues have increased from $240 million to nearly $500 million.

We have a large (and loud) gong in the middle of our second-floor atrium. When a new account is brought onboard, the sales person responsible bangs the gong and the entire company applauds.

Unique policies and benefits

One of our most-popular perks are free screening copies of almost all major Hollywood movie titles before they are released on DVD or video to the general public. We also have after-work screenings of movies in current release, held in the VPD Theatre, where food and drinks are provided and family members may attend.

The “Golden Phone’ is awarded to the sales person who spends the most time on the phone with customers. Golden Phone winners have their personal phone bills paid for the next four months.

Promotion of work-life balance
We observe a 40-hour work week for everyone. It is very rare to see employees in our building after our 5pm closing time, unless there is a screening or a party. The office complex features a posh 90-seat movie theatre, outdoor patio with gas grill, beer-keg cooler, fountains and a fireplace. His-and-hers locker rooms with showers are also provided.
